Start Your Uncontested Divorce
This is the first step. Please review and sign this agreement to begin your divorce process. Once signed, you will be guided through the next steps to complete your case online. PARTIES. This Agreement is entered into between: Attorney: Weekes Law, PLLC (“Firm”) and Client:

1. Scope of Representation.
Client retains Firm to provide legal services for an uncontested divorce in the State of Utah (“Services”). Services are: (a) Preparation of all required divorce documents; (b) Filing documents with the court; (c) Communication regarding the divorce process; and (d) Preparation of final decree and closing documents.

4. Uncontested Requirement. .
This Agreement is based on the understanding that (1) Both parties agree on all material terms, including property division, debts, custody (if applicable), and support; and (2) The opposing party is cooperative. If the matter becomes contested, Firm may: (1) Require a new agreement on an hourly basis; or (2) Withdraw from representation as permitted by law.
5. Flat Fee.

Client agrees to pay a flat fee as follows:
$1,000 – Utah resident (at least one party) with no minor children
$1,500 – Utah resident (at least one party) with minor children
$1,500 – Non-Utah resident with no minor children

6. Payment Terms.
Payment is due at the start of representation. unless otherwise agree in writing. No legal work will begin until the payment is received in full. Fees are earned upon receipt, except as required by Utah law.
7. Costs Not Included.
Client is responsible for third-party costs, including:
Court filing fees
Parenting course
Divorce education
These costs are separate from the flat fee.
8. Client Responsibilities.
Client agrees to:
Provide accurate and complete information
Timely respond to Firm communications
Carefully review documents before filing
Delays caused by Client may impact timelines.
9. Limited Representation.
This Agreement does not include:
Contested litigation
Court appearances (unless separately agreed)
Mediation
Appeals or post-decree matters
10. No Guarantee.
Firm makes no guarantees regarding the outcome of the case or timeline for completion.
11. Communication.
Firm will primarily communicate via email, text messaging, or secure online systems. Client agrees to monitor communications regularly.
12. Termination.
Client may terminate this Agreement at any time. Firm may withdraw consistent with the Utah Rules of Professional Conduct, including if Client fails to pay fees, Client becomes uncooperative, or the matter becomes contested. No refunds will be given once the initial documents have been sent to Client for approval.
13. Entire Agreement.
This Agreement contains the entire understanding between the parties.
14. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, Venue.
You irrevocably and unconditionally agree that the laws of the State of Utah will govern the validity, performance, and the enforcement of the Agreement and that jurisdiction and venue for the enforcement of this Agreement shall be found exclusively in the courts of Washington County, State of Utah. You understand that no warranties or representations have been made by the Firm or any of its attorneys concerning the success or favorable outcome of any legal action, the documents, or negotiations prepared or entered into on behalf of you.
The foregoing terms and conditions are set forth to promote a clear understanding of our expectations as to Fee for Services. By signing below, the Client acknowledges and agrees that they have read, understand, and agree to all of the foregoing terms and conditions.
